LOCAL STORIES
Meet Kate Furman | Jewelry Designer, Goldsmith, Owner
We had the good fortune of connecting with Kate Furman and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kate, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
The most important factor behind the success of my brand is authenticity through my story and the aesthetics and craftsmanship of my handmade jewelry.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?

Kate Furman Jewelry is known for handcrafting bespoke heirloom jewelry for the raw and refined woman and the unique alternative bride,

I work from my cozy studio in the Village of West Greenville, SC where I hand carve waxes for lost wax casting, set gemstones and hand engrave gold. My jewelry is wearable but bold, organic but classic and perfectly imperfect.

Visit katefurman.com to learn more about my custom jewelry process, see one of a kind pieces currently for sale and more.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?

When visiting Greenville, it is important to visit its arts district, The Village of West Greenville. You could start your day with a coffee from Unlocked Coffee or The Village Grind, visit my studio (open by appointment made at katefurman.com) and tour a few more studios and galleries before lunch (Darin Gerhke ceramics and Art and Light Gallery to name just two). Then you can grab a salad and pizza at Coastal Crust Pizza. After that I recommend exploring Greenville Center for Creative Arts, which is just down the street, where you can find artwork, studios, classes and a gift shop. Then I suggest finishing your day with a cocktail and some small plates at The Anchorage.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?

I would not be who I am and would not do what I do if not for my mom, Linda Quinn Furman. Although she passed away in 2020, she lives through me in my creativity and love of making.
