Recently, I was selected to join The Swag's amazing team as one of its "Expert in Residents." My first residency was a wonderful success, and I had a blast. More importantly, I was able to share a bit of myself and my drawings with the resort's guests. 

During my stay, I led a hike along The Swag Nature Trail, which is a loop hike touring this mountaintop property. Most of the leaves had already fallen, which opened up gorgeous views of the surrounding mountains and valleys. During the hike, I encouraged guests to take photos of both details and scenes that inspired them. Once we completed it, we met around a picnic for a lesson on pen and ink sketchbook drawing.

Also during my stay, I hosted a "meet and greet" where guests could ask questions, view my jewelry and previous sketchbooks and where we could just get to know each other. Immediately I met new friends who were already only a degree or two of social separation from me. We also held a sketch booking stroll that stayed a little closer to the main house to be sure guests were given enough time to draw, journal and ask questions.
